Indo-Myanmar Border: The whole country is currently discussing the Indo-Pak war and the success of Operation Sindoor. Meanwhile, amid Indo-Pak tension, the Indian Army has carried out a major operation in Manipur. 10 militants have been killed on the Indo-Myanmar border. A fierce encounter took place between Assam Rifles and militants on Wednesday in Chandel district of Manipur, in which at least 10 militants were killed. This operation is still going on.
Sharing the information on the social media platform ‘X’, the Eastern Command of the Indian Army said that on May 14, a unit of Assam Rifles launched this operation in New Samtal village, Khengjoy Tehsil under the Spear Corps. This area is close to the India-Myanmar international border, which often remains a center of militant activities.
Army officials have confirmed that the operation was launched after receiving strong intelligence about the activities of suspected armed militants near New Samtal village bordering Myanmar. According to the army, “During the operation, when the soldiers cordoned off the area, the suspected militants started firing at them. In retaliation, the soldiers fired with restraint and strategy. 10 militants were killed in this encounter. The army also said that a large quantity of weapons and ammunition has also been recovered. This operation has been described as ‘calibrated’ i.e. planned and precise.
According to sources, the search operation is still going on in view of the possibility of more militants hiding in the area. There is no news of any casualties during the operation. This action is being considered an important success by the security forces amid the ongoing unrest in Manipur.
