Raipur. At least 25 people have been killed after terrorists struck a prime tourist location of Pahalgam in South Kashmir, government sources told media. The attack took place at Baisaran, a meadow accessible only by foot or pony, where a group of tourists had gone visiting this morning, they said.
Home Minister Amit Shah left for Jammu and Kashmir and wrote on X, “anguished by the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. My thoughts are with the family members of the deceased. Those involved in this dastardly act of terror will not be spared, and we will come down heavily on the perpetrators with the harshest consequences”.
Condemning the terror attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that those behind the heinous act will be brought to justice. Mr. Modi held a telephonic conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah following the terrorist attack, and directed him to take all necessary measures in response to the incident. Mr. Shah has left for Srinagar to hold an urgent security review meeting with all the agencies.
In this major terrorist attack, a businessman from the capital Raipur is also reported to have been shot by a terrorist. Lalluram.com confirmed this from the businessman’s son Shaurya Mirania, who lives in the capital Raipur. Shaurya told that his father has been shot by terrorists and he has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. They live in Samta Colony of the capital Raipur. The name of the said businessman is being told as Dinesh Mirania.
