Bihar Assembly Election: Six months ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, political parties have intensified their preparations. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will meet Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi today in this connection. During this, seat sharing for the upcoming Bihar elections and alliance between the two parties will be discussed. RJD MP Manoj Jha confirmed this on Monday. At the same time, Tejashwi Yadav also confirmed his meeting with Mallikarjun Kharge today in a conversation with media.
The RJD-Congress meeting is expected to be held at Kharge’s residence. On April 20, the Congress president will also address a public meeting in Bihar’s Buxar district. Congress sources said the two leaders are likely to discuss the situation in Bihar, especially after the recent Waqf (Amendment) Act brought by the BJP government.
RJD Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha said in Delhi, “This is a formal meeting in Delhi. If we look at the allies of the Congress party, RJD has been the oldest ally till date. This meeting has been organized keeping in mind the overall perspective of Bihar and since there are about 6-8 months left for the elections, it will be discussed”.
Meanwhile, the party high command has already instructed the Bihar cadre of Congress to focus on all 243 assembly seats. A Congress source said, ‘The aim is to increase the chances of victory for both us and our allies, no matter who is the candidate on the seat. According to Congress sources, the party can contest a maximum of 70 seats in Bihar Assembly elections. Last time also Congress contested only 70 seats in Bihar. RJD is also expected to contest more or less a maximum of 150 seats in the state.
This time a tough electoral battle is expected in Bihar. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA); which includes Janata Dal (United) led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha. The NDA is fighting against the Mahagathbandhan formed by Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and leftist parties.
