New Delhi: After its humiliating election defeats during and immediately after Delhi’s COVID crisis, the Congress Party, once a powerful force, is facing a bleak road ahead in the 2025 Assembly Elections, with most exit polls predicting a crushing defeat for the grand old party. The national capital was historically ruled by Congress from 1998 to 2013; however, in the last two elections, the party lost all seats, which seems to be continuing in 2025 as well.

Unanimously, most of the exit polls have predicted that Congress will not have any account in Delhi. Exit polls predict a clear run for the BJP to power, but AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) will be the key to the BJP’s loss of power in Delhi.

In what is probably the most optimistic exit poll for BJP, one conducted by Peoples Pulse, the party has been predicted to win between 51-60 seats while AAP will bag 10-19. Congress had a dismal poll prediction: It will not win even a single seat, this poll says. On the exit poll side, the Chanakya Strategies forecasts BJP to win 39-44 seats while AAP will manage to win 25-28 seats. The highest prediction of Congress seats was just three, predicted by this poll.

However, the Matrize exit poll is a slightly different story, where BJP and AAP are expected to neck and neck. Of the two, it forecasts BJP will get 35-40 and AAP 32-37. According to this poll Congress is due to win 0-1 seat.

Like other exit polls, these polls predict a strong turnout for the BJP and that Congress has not been effective in running the race. On Congress, predictions for 0-1 seat to as many as 3 seats show the party in steep decline.
