JEE Main 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 for Engineering (BE/BTech, paper 1) aspirants today, January 23. On the second day of JEE Mains session 1, candidates appear for the test in two shifts – from 9 am to 12 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The Physics section was perceived as easy to moderate by most students. The majority of the questions were drawn from Class 12 topics, with relatively fewer from Class 11. Chapters like Mechanics, Waves, and Thermodynamics were less emphasized in this shift. However, Class 12 topics such as Optics and Electromagnetism had a stronger presence. Questions from Modern Physics were moderate in number, while chapters like Alternating Currents (AC), EMI, and Magnetism were underrepresented. Notably, there was a good number of instrument-related questions, adding variety to the section.
Ajay Kumar Sharma, national director of the Aakash Educational Services Limited, claims that among the three subjects, Physics was the easiest, followed by Chemistry, while Mathematics was the most challenging due to the lengthiness of its questions.
According to Kumar, the questions in Chemistry were predominantly easy, similar to the morning shift. There was a relatively lower representation of Physical Chemistry, with Organic and Inorganic Chemistry forming the majority. Assertion-reason (AR) type questions were also included and were primarily theoretical.
Candidates can download the admit cards for the first three exam days from jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam is scheduled for January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 (paper 1) and January 30 (paper 2, BArch/BPlanning).
Candidates need to undergo pre-exam formalities, which include mandatory frisking, before entering the exam hall. Therefore, candidates must reach the exam venue by the reporting time mentioned on the admit card. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam venue once the gates are closed.
