New Delhi: India will celebrate Republic Day on January 26, 2025, commemorating 75 years since the adoption of its constitution. Therefore, this is the 76th Republic day, an event to feature the annual parade at Kartavya Path, near India Gate in New Delhi. The parade will showcase the Indian Armed Forces, paramilitary contingents, and cultural tableaux from various states, highlighting the nation’s diversity and progress.
This annual event commemorates the adoption of the Indian Constitution on January 26, 1950, which made India a sovereign republic.
The morning festivities for Republic Day will commence with Prime Minister Narendra Modi honoring the National War Memorial by laying a wreath. This will be Narendra Modi’s 12th Republic Day as a prime minister.
Following this, the President will arrive at Kartavya Path to oversee the ceremonial march past, featuring contingents from the Armed Forces, Para-Military Forces, Auxiliary Civil Forces, as well as units from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the National Service Scheme (NSS).

Republic Day 2025: Parade Proceedings and Route
The day starts with the President of India hoisting the national flag, followed by a 21-gun salute by the Indian Army Regiment of Artillery.
The parade follows a historic route, starting at Rashtrapati Bhavan, proceeding along Kartavya Path, passing India Gate, and concluding at the Red Fort.
A 160-member marching contingent, along with a 190-member band contingent from Indonesia, this year will take part in the parade, in addition to the contingents of the Indian Armed Forces.
furthermore, 31 tableaux from Indian states, union territories, and central government ministries/departments will also partake in the parade under the theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas,” which translates into (Golden India: Heritage and Development.)
This will be followed by the national anthem, releasing themed banners, and balloons of the 75th year of the Indian Constitution, and lastly ending with the flypast by 47 aircraft.
