There is tremendous enthusiasm among the devotees regarding the Mahakumbh that started on 13 January in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. If the administration’s claim is to be believed, more than 54.96 lakh people took a bath till 6 pm on Monday. These include more than 10 lakh Kalpvasis. Apart from this, if we combine the figures of 8.26 crore devotees from the beginning of Mahakumbh till Sunday and the figures till 6 pm on Monday, then a total of 8 crore 80 lakh people have taken a holy dip in Mahakumbh.
Earlier on Monday, Rajya Sabha MP and philanthropist Sudha Murthy arrived in Prayagraj to attend the Mahakumbh, expressing her immense joy and excitement for the sacred occasion. Murty, who is on a three-day visit, shared her enthusiasm, calling the event a rare spiritual opportunity. “I am very excited because this is ‘Teerthraj.’ It (Maha Kumbh) came after 144 years, and I am excited, hopeful, and extremely happy.
