The series opener of the Australia Under-19 tour of India has kicked off at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Chennai. The Australian Under-19 side elected to bat first after winning the toss, and the team seems to be in good form now. At the moment, they are 63 for 1 in 18 overs, which puts them in a very good position as they set themselves for a good score.

The first wicket milestone achieved for India came when Aditya Singh scored this to get rid of Steven Hogan for 15 balls 29. Having settled down comfortably, Hogan went in to bat, but he got one to the slip for India’s first wicket of the game. Still, Australia is solid, with Riley Kingsell having a good time on the ground to stabilize their innings. Kingsell is looking in good touch and has also displayed a good sense of temperance; he is not out on 33 on 57 balls. With this, his ability to display stability at the crease has ensured that Australia regains composure after the initial loss of a wicket.

During the ongoing play, India will be interested in getting more wickets in the underway match using available field restrictions. The best of their bowlers has been bowling well in this regard by keeping the Australian batsman pinning and charging. They have been equally effective, courtesy of Indian fielders who have done their best to deny the opposition free-flowing boundaries.

However, Australia will aim to take their form from the first match and go further up the ladder. Together with Kingsell at the crease, they intend to take the score as high as possible and establish partnerships that put pressure on the Indian bowlers. The pitch at Chinnaswamy Stadium has slowed up a tad for the bowlers, though it remains a good batting pitch, and hence, both the teams should be able to post a thrilling encounter.

Is the Indian team going to pray that their bowlers come up with a way and mean to destroy the Australian’s bowling?
