Israel embarked on its biggest air raids on Hezbollah camps on Monday, and sources in Lebanon indicate that at least 100 people have been killed. They were launched in response to attacks that were behind hundreds of Hezbollah sites as tensions with neighbouring states rose on Israel’s north line. The Israeli forces advised residents to leave the area where Hezbollah was said to be storing arms to reduce the likelihood of casualties.

These strikes take place as the two interact with an intensity not witnessed for nearly a year; the focus now turns to the north. The terrorist group Hezbollah has been launching rockets at Israel from Lebanon to support Hamas, which is in a fight with Israel in Gaza. The Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, speaking out on the matter, said, ‘We are escalating our operations in Lebanon.’ These actions will continue until the intended goal of facilitating the safe return of all residents from the north is realized.

Gallant pointed to the fact that these were days in which the Israeli public would have to demonstrate some patience.

On Monday, IAF planes attacked Hezbollah’s positions in south Lebanon, the eastern Bekaa Valley, and Northern zones near the Syrian border. According to Lebanon’s health ministry, women, children, and medics were not spared in the attack, with 100 people dead and over 300 injured by the strikes.

Speaking on the eve of the anniversary, the Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee asserted that over 300 Hezbollah targets have been struck in the course of the action. It was also ascertained that Lebanon’s civilian infrastructure was intentionally targeted by Israel in order to hit Hezbollah’s weapon storage sites. In response, Hezbollah fired rockets at Israeli military installations.

The situation has put more pressure on Hezbollah, whose leader, Hassan Nasrallah, said an attack that targeted its communication network was unprecedented in the group’s history after recent blasts that damaged thousands of its communication equipment. As for the incident mentioned above, Israel has not admitted its involvement in it, nor has it denied it.
