New Delhi: According to a police officer on Monday, five men have been taken into custody for allegedly firing shots into the air outside a cafe after a fight at Satya Niketan in south-west Delhi on Sunday night. The owner of the cafe asked one of the customers not to sit on the glass table, which started the argument.

According to Deputy Police Commissioner (Southwest), Rohit Meena, the accused have been identified as Jahangirpuri residents Ahmed, Aurangzeb, Atul, Javed, and Adil. According to people aware of the situation, Javed is facing six criminal cases, and the accused has illegal firearms and a Thar SUV seized from him.

According to police, at 8:48 p.m., a call about the firing at the Satya Niketan cafe was placed in their control room. When police arrived, a man who works at the cafe named Karan reported that some men had arrived for dinner at around 8:30 p.m., and one of them had sat at the glass table, which the cafe’s owner, Rohit, had taken issue with. “The customers started arguing. Thereafter, some more men entered the cafe and started a scuffle. One of them then fired in the air outside the cafe,” he said.
