A cabinet meeting will be held today in the Chief Minister’s residence office under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. The cabinet meeting will begin at 11 am to discuss many important issues including the urban body elections.
The proposal to conduct the election of the Mayor of Municipal Corporation, Municipality and President of Nagar Panchayats through direct system and electronic voting machines in place of ballot boxes can also be approved. In the meeting, along with the rain situation and availability of fertilizers in the state, preparations for paddy procurement at support price in Kharif marketing year 2024-25 can be reviewed. Discussion on Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan is also possible in the cabinet. Apart from this, some important decisions can also be taken in the interest of farmers and employees.
After the meeting, at 2 pm, the chief minister will leave for Durg district. He will attend the local program organized in Durg. From 3 to 4 pm, he will attend the second convocation of Hemchand Yadav University. After that at 5 pm, CM Sai will return to his residence in Raipur.
Meanwhile, Congress state president Deepak Baij will return to Raipur from his Delhi tour today. At the same time, there is an exercise regarding appointments in Congress as new faces will take responsibility. Many posts including state vice president, and general secretary are lying vacant. There has been a discussion about National General Secretary Venu Gopal and PCC President Baij in Delhi. There are indications of new appointments on the vacant posts of the organization in the second fortnight of this month. The PCC has prepared an action plan before the municipal body elections.
