Backing Rahul Gandhi, Shiv Sena (UBT) Member of Parliament Priyanka Chaturvedi even warned that there should be no Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid on the Congress leader. Chaturvedi declared that if the ED were to conduct a raid on Gandhi, all partners of the opposition INDIA bloc would come in a joint force in the strongest. Her comments are timed as Gandhi accused ED of plotting to arrest him after his criticism of the government.
Chaturvedi, from Shiv Sena, also condemned the policies of the ruling BJP and claimed that the government did not learn its lessons from the Lok Sabha elections and asked to beware of the public’s scrutiny regarding the abuse of central agencies. She levelled such allegations against the BJP and stated that these central agencies were working to harass the opposition leaders and that these agencies had been apprehensively obedient to the government. “The people are observing how all the agencies are being used against the opposition leaders,” said Chaturvedi in the Rajya Sabha, adding that today, all centrality agencies have succumbed to the central government.
This came after Rahul Gandhi’s statement that the ED was plotting to raid his home over his critical ‘Chakravyuh’ speech during the Union Budget debate. Gandhi went to X (formerly Twitter) to post that he had inside information from employees of the ED that informed him of the raid. In a rather aggressive language, Gandhi came out with an open challenge to the ED officials, stating that” 2 of them did not seem to enjoy my Chakravyuh speech. Apparently, ‘insiders’ in the ED are telling me that I am going to be raided soon. Come on over, I will be waiting, @dir_ed…. You will get tea and biscuits in the house. ”
In the process of the debate on Justice V. R. Krishna Iyer’s concept of the ‘Chakravyuh’ part of the Mahabharata epic, Gandhi made a brutal remark on the BJP and said that the party was meeting out modern Chakravyuh, the lotus, the party emblem. He accused the government of entrapping different factions of Indian society, such as the youths, women, farmers, and even small business people.
