In a tragic case concerning the suicide of a doctor in South Delhi, the court has pronounced Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Prakash Jarwal guilty. He has been charged under Section 306 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The incident involves Dr. Rajendra Bhati, who took his own life by hanging on April 18, 2020, at his residence. At that time, the police discovered a suicide note in which the name of Aam Aadmi Party’s Deoli legislator, Prakash Jarwal, was mentioned.
The deceased doctor accused Jarwal and his associates of continuously threatening him in the suicide note. Recently, the court had framed charges against AAP legislator Prakash Jarwal, and today, it has delivered a verdict declaring him guilty. However, the announcement of the sentence is still pending.
The doctor, residing in the Deoli Assembly constituency, committed suicide in 2020. Before taking his own life, Dr. Rajendra wrote a suicide note, leveling serious allegations against legislator Prakash. In the note, he accused Prakash Jarwal and his close associate Kapil Nagar of being responsible for his death. Dr. Rajendra mentioned that before the assembly elections, he had accepted large sums of money from several people to facilitate the operation of water tankers. Despite this, he found himself in a precarious financial situation, demanding additional funds and causing significant mental distress. It’s worth noting that areas such as Khanpur, Deoli, Sangam Vihar, Ambedkar Nagar, etc., have been grappling with water-related issues for years, creating hardships for the residents.
The court’s decision to find Prakash Jarwal guilty has brought attention to the complex circumstances surrounding the doctor’s suicide, shedding light on the alleged financial dealings and threats leading up to the unfortunate incident.
