Today is the last day of election campaigning in Rajasthan. Assembly elections in Rajasthan are to be held on 25 November. In lieu of this, candidates will have to stop campaigning at 6 pm on Thursday 23 November.
After the election noise subsides, road shows, processions, rallies and meetings etc. will not be organized anywhere in Rajasthan. Along with this, the campaigners from outside will also have to go out of the state. Along with this, candidates will be able to campaign from door to door.
Chief Electoral Officer, Praveen Gupta announced 258617 essential service voters, including police officers, government employees and others have exercised their franchise at poll facilitation centres through the postal ballots. He further confirmed that voting can be done at these centres till November 24. For the first time, journalists have also been included in the category of service voters.
Voting will be held for 199 out of 200 seats in Rajasthan on November 25. However, the Congress candidate from Karanpur assembly seat of Sriganganagar district, Gurmeet Singh Kooner has died on November 15. Therefore, the election for the Karanpur seat has been adjourned and ECI will notify a fresh date of polling.
On the last of campaigning, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan campaigned vigorously on the last day of the election campaign. He addressed public meetings in three assembly constituencies Bagidaura, Ramganjmandi and Pipalda. Shivraj Singh has more focus on the areas of Rajasthan adjacent to MP. Yesterday also the CM had held three public meetings.
