New Delhi: Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai conducted a meeting on Thursday with various departments to discuss the efficient execution of measures specified in the central air pollution control plan, according to officials.
The meeting took place at 1 pm at the Delhi Secretariat. Delhi, NCR regions are experiencing ‘very poor’ air quality on Thursday. As per SAFAR data, the overall air quality in the national capital stood at 386.
As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality at 7 am in Bawana was recorded at 442, RK Puram was 418 in Jahangirpuri it was 441 in Dwarka it was 416 in Alipur 415, in Anand Vihar at 412, in ITO it was 412 and near the Delhi airport the AQI was recorded at 401.
Meanwhile, Lt Governor V K Saxena on Thursday targeted AAP governments in Delhi and Punjab over air pollution in the city, saying Delhi can do little to stop smoke from stubble-burning from other states.
He also highlighted that the problem in the national capital can be mitigated by reducing “dust that our unrepaired roads, unpaved pavements and construction sites cause” and curbing vehicular emissions.
Earlier on Wednesday, on the instructions of MCD Dy. Mayor Aaley Iqbal landed at ground zero and sprinkled water with water sprinklers. All the ministers, mayors, MLAs and councilors of Kejriwal government are trying to provide relief to the people of Delhi from pollution”, wrote AAP Delhi on X.

Priyanka Gandhi who resides in Delhi left for Jaipur amid rising pollution-related health issues. Former Congress President shifting to Jaipur is temporary until Delhi’s air quality improves. Gandhi has been suffering from respiratory problems and doctors have advised her to move to a place where air quality is better temporarily. Ms Gandhi had been admitted to Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in September after showing fever symptoms and was discharged a day later. She had also been admitted to a hospital in January because of respiratory issues.
