Janak Dhruv, who reached Devbhog after being declared a Congress candidate got warm welcome, while Congress State Secretary Seven Pujari tendered his resignation after being accused of imposing an external candidate.

Congress state secretary Seven Singh Pujari and senior tribal Congress leader Dhansingh Markam resign from their membership in Chhattisgarh, alleging that the party imposed an external candidate in Bindranwagarh

Seven Singh Pujari, the Congress state secretary in Chhattisgarh, resigned from his membership to the state president today. This comes after the party imposed an external candidate in Bindranwagarh, where Pujari was hoping to be selected as the candidate.

Pujari said that he has been working for the party with full dedication since joining in 1980. He has held various positions in the party, including District Vice President and State Secretary. However, he was not considered for the candidate position in Bindranwagarh.

Pujari alleged that the party did not find any local leader worthy of being a candidate in Bindranwagarh, and that this time too an outside candidate has been imposed. He said that he is resigning from his membership in protest.

Senior tribal Congress leader Dhansingh Markam is also angry with the party’s decision. He has accused the party of imposing an external candidate and has resigned from his membership. Markam said that he will bring the nomination form and contest as an independent candidate.

Markam said that in Gariaband block, huge resentment has been seen among the Congress leaders coming from Amad God community.

The resignations of Pujari and Markam are a blow to the Congress party in Chhattisgarh. The party is already facing a tough challenge from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming assembly elections. The resignations are likely to further damage the party’s prospects in the state.
