Raipur: In a significant initiative aimed at supporting the state’s educated unemployed population, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel transferred unemployment allowances totalling Rs 35 crore 48 lahks 7 thousand 500 directly into the bank accounts of 1,35,104 beneficiaries. This disbursement is part of the Unemployment Allowance Scheme, which has thus far provided Rs 182 crore 47 lakh 2 thousand 500 as allowances to beneficiaries in six instalments.

Under the Unemployment Allowance Scheme, since April, the state has received a total of 2,104,343 applications, with 94% of them, comprising 1,79,494 applications, already approved for disbursement. The remaining 6% of applicants are currently undergoing physical verification.

Notably, 39% of the beneficiaries availing the unemployment allowance are women. In comparison, 83% of the applicants hail from rural areas, underscoring the broad reach and impact of the scheme in addressing unemployment issues across different demographics.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s commitment to supporting the youth of Chhattisgarh and addressing the challenge of unemployment is evident through this initiative. The unemployment allowance not only offers financial assistance to educated unemployed individuals but also plays a crucial role in enhancing their economic well-being and prospects.

This ongoing effort aligns with the government’s vision of promoting employment opportunities and improving the livelihoods of the state’s residents. By directly depositing the unemployment allowance into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, the government aims to provide timely and efficient assistance to those in need, contributing to their financial stability and overall development.
