Raipur: After the hospitals overwhelmed by the second wave of coronavirus, the Directorate of Medical Education has introduced a 1-year certificate course as, Emergency Care Technician, in all medical colleges of the state. 

As per the guidelines for admissions, PUC students with physics, biology, and chemistry as the subjects are eligible for the course. 

Dr. M.E.R.K. Singh stated,” emergency care technician courses will be conducted in all Medicus colleges as technicians are required to check every disease in the state but they are majorly required in case of the pandemic, so the course will be conducted in the first 6 medical colleges. The students will be taught to interpret disease presentations on X-rays and identify pathologies. 

Issuing a sanction to conduct the course, the Chhattisgarh government has listed the 6 Government medical colleges namely in Raipur, Bilaspur, Jagdalpur, Raigad, Rajnandgaon, and Ambikapur to conduct the course.

Chhattisgarh recorded 15,785 new infections on Tuesday out of which Bilaspur presented the majority. However, so far Raipur has logged 10,784 active cases, highest amongst all districts of the state. Nearly 210 deaths were registered as per hospital data.
