Raipur: In the purview of the un-seizable spike, several districts across Chhattisgarh announce the extension of lockdown. As per the state health bulletin, 12,666 new infections were logged in the past 24 hours. Out of these Raipur recorded the highest count taking the toll of the district to 1,33,970. With the recovery ratio at 79.9 %, 11,595 individuals recuperated. The novel virus claimed 199 lives across the state.
Ambikapur, Balrampur, Narayanpur, Janjgir, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi (GPM), and Gariaband have extended their lockdown till May 5 while Raigad, Bilaspur, Jagdalpur, Kawardha, Sukma, and Balod have been declared as containment zones till 6 May.
As per earlier issues, Bilaspur was expected to end its lockdown today at 12 pm, however, in view of the rising infections the administration extended the lockdown issuing new guidelines for the public.
Ambikapur and Balrampur which were also set to relax today, have declared extension under the previous guidelines.
All essential services will function in the window provided by their respective administrations. Government ration shops have also been issued a time frame to operate. Banks are permitted to function only with limited employees. Only medical representatives, petrol pump operators, gas agencies, cold transporters, government ration shops are allowed transactions.
The public is directed to attain an e-pass to travel across the district. All social gatherings are banned while wedding procession can be held only with minimum attendance in accordance with the administration allowance with prior permission.
