Lucknow: COVID graph seeks a timid rise in Uttar Pradesh. The state government has announced 10 districts to witness night curfew from Sunday 4 April.  The list released by the administration includes Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Aligarh, Meerut, Varanasi, and Agra.

Speculations are that a meeting might be held between the district heads and the DM social workers and businessmen today to delineate the aspects of the night curfew.

The active count of the state has reached close to 200 since Holi. At the district level, guidelines have been issued by the government for penalties against violations.  The Disaster Management and Epidemics Act was extended by the Yogi government to serve the surge. According to official sources, a separate guideline might be issued by the government for some cities like Varanasi, which can be curtailed in the opening and closing hours of shops, markets, offices, and other institutions.
Uttar Pradesh state health bulletin revealed 6,22,736 since the initiation of the outbreak. Lucknow amongst all the districts has reported the highest rise of COVID reporting 4,587 active cases so far.
