Raipur: Former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has targeted the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel amid rising Coronavirus cases. Dr Raman took to Twitter and initiated a scathing attack on the current CM Bhupesh Baghel.
Dr Singh said, “the situation in Chhattisgarh today is grim due to your wrong policies and negligent decisions. By giving free tickets in the road safety match, you risked the lives of the people by gathering crowds. Today, the state is suffering its consequences.”
Chhattisgarh reported 28,987 active cases so far. As per the data submitted, the state health bulletin reports 4,617 fresh cases in the past 24hours. Around 34 deaths have been reported. Nearly 3,20,613 citizens have recuperated so far.
The state government has imposed a week-long lockdown in Durg owing to the second wave. The district will be undergoing clampdown for 9 days beginning from 6th April till 14th April. The collector has urged the citizens to follow the norms and maintain social distancing to control the dynamics of COVID.
The citizens are also urged to reach the nearby vaccination centres to get their jabs. The Union Health Ministry announced the extension of services to all citizens above 45 years in its third phase irrespective of co-morbidities.
So far Raipur and Durg are the worst hit districts of Chhattisgarh that need to monitor their COVID graph.
