New Delhi: On Thursday, during Suvendu Adhikari’s rally in the Nandigram constituency, a clash broke out between the workers of BJP and TMC. After such an incident, Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister, and Senior BJP leader lashed out against the Government of West Bengal CM and stated that democracy is being murdered in West Bengal.
He said, “If she wants to contest why not with democratic ways. Since morning, when Suvendu Adhikari started his padayatra, due to fear of losing to him and his popularity they are attacking us. On Sonachura Chowk, our young worker was attacked”.
The Union Minister stated that two incidents of violence took place on that day. After visiting the Reapara Rural Hospital, Pradhan said, “In the morning at Kalicharanpur, crude bombs were hurled and injured few. I saw the injured Yuva Morcha worker while on way to campaigning”.
He further added, “There is yet another report coming of an attack on Adhikari. This is very serious. In a democracy, if the local police work in connivance with the TMC what will happen. I urge the Election Commission to intervene”. Pradhan cut short his speech at Sonachura to visit the injured BJP worker at the hospital.
Nandigram is the place where the CM and Suvendu Adhikari are locked in a high-voltage battle. The election in West Bengal will start on March 27 with the final round of voting taking place on April 29. And then on May 2, the counting of votes will take place.
