Chhattisgarh: Three accused were arrested along with an illegal liquor license today in the Kotdwar district. The accused withheld 8 canisters of illicit liquor.

Additional Superintendent of Police Nivedita Pal said, it was reported that some people supplied liquor from across the Shivnath River, which was planted by the informant and stopped the van from being cordoned off when the smugglers were arrested. 

8 canisters of liquor worth Rs40,000 were seized from the accused. Apparently, the liquor was sold from Madhya Pradesh. 

The police officials carried out the operation under the directions of Kotwat Inspector Mahesh Dhuav. The team was equipped enough to nab the accused on the run.

Kotwat police has detained the accused and will penalize them under the Excise Act.
