New Delhi: The COVID-19 caseload in India goes past 95 lakh, while the total number of people who have fought back from the disease, has surged to 89.73 lakh, pushing the national rate of recovery to 94.11% – as per the data published by Union Health Ministry this morning.
The total number of COVID-19 infected people has mounted to 95,34,964, with 35,551 fresh infections reported within the last 24 hours. The death toll has mounted to 1,38,648 with 526 new fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 AM this morning.
The number of people to fight back the deadly virus climbed to 89,73,373, taking the national recovery rate to 94.11%. The percentage of COVID-19 case fatality in India stands at 1.45%. The number of active COVID-19 cases continues to stand below 5 lakh. According to the data again, there are 4,22,943 active COVID-19 infections in India, which consists of 4.44% of the total number of cases.
The COVID-19 tally in India had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7 this year, crossed 30 lakh on August 23 while surged to 40 lakh on September 5. The caseload moved past 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28, surged to 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, and it got ahead of 90 lakh on November 20.
As per the ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research), 14,35,57,647 samples had been tested till December 1, and 11,11,698 samples were tested on Tuesday.
