Raipur: Vinod Verma, a known advisor to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel, revealed on Wednesday that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had summoned several members of his family, including his two sons. This development intensifies the investigation surrounding him. Week Verma himself faced questioning from the central agency regarding an alleged betting and gambling application.

In a post on a social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Verma shared a picture where he was seen accompanying his family members as they went to the ED office in response to the summons. Although he didn’t provide details in his post, he expressed his determination amidst this ongoing scrutiny. “The government backed agencies may use their power and take any actions but they cannot undermine the resolve of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his dedicated team ” Verma firmly stated in his post.

Expanding further on the matter, he mentioned that he accompanied his sons Punarvasu and Tathagat, as well as his brother-in-law Tukendra Verma to the ED office for their scheduled summons. Additionally, his wife Jaya is set to appear before the agency on the day.

On August 28th, the ED carefully documented the statements given by Verma and Manish Banchhore, who serve as the minister’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD). This was done as part of their investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
