The monsoon season has already begun making fast progress since it arrived in Kerala. It is expected to relieve the scorching weather as it approaches Tamil Nadu and Karnataka by Saturday. Already some regions in South Tamil Nadu have witnessed rains, with forecasts indicating that other areas, including northeastern places, are also set to be covered soon enough; by mid-June at the latest, IMD insights reckon there’ll be a noticeable push towards the Bihar region. As usual, the progress comes at a cost- heat waves prevail, hindering residents living across Eastern parts of India, such as Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha, among others, who anticipate more sweltering conditions over the coming days.

Additionally, forecasts indicate above-normal temperatures persisting for another five days, with northwest India seeing a rise particularly affecting Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab & UP Western Regions. Of course, besides alarming temperature shifts on land, Cyclone Biparjoy is still a potential threat awaiting intensification within the next 36 hours, making many coastal regions, especially Mumbai-Goa-Karnataka-North Kerala, brace themselves for heavy thunderstorms resembling potential rainfall alarms more than anything else along the beach areas. Fishermen cautiously secure their vessels, awaiting the arrival of the much-needed monsoon.

The Meteorological Department has also warned of heavy rains and high winds throughout the coast, with Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Goa already receiving significant rainfall.

In other regions of the country, the monsoon is predicted to arrive on June 15, relieving the scorching summer heat. As the monsoon proceeds, the rain is believed to ease the current weather conditions and add to the region’s overall well-being.
