Bhopal- A rescue attempt is underway in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, to retrieve a three-year-old child who fell from a 300-foot-deep borewell. The tragedy happened on Tuesday at 9 p.m. in Mungaoli when the toddler became stranded around 10 feet below the surface. The rescue attempt was launched the next day at 5 p.m. by a team comprising the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), the SDRF (State Disaster Response Force), and local police officers.

A parallel pit is being dug at a distance of 11 feet using more than 30 JCBs and Poclain machines to access the trapped girl. However, by 2:50 am on Wednesday, the team had only managed to dig the borewell, and unfortunately, the girl slipped further down to <> feet.

Efforts to remove the borewell using a hook proved unsuccessful, and water is lightly seeping into the well. The excavation process is hindered by hard stones, causing delays in digging. A large drill machine is attached to the Poclain machine to break these stones. Oxygen is provided to the child, and an inspection camera has been installed inside the borewell to monitor her movements. Ambulances and medical teams remain on standby at the scene.

The Chief Minister’s Office communicates with the district administration, ensuring their support and coordination in the rescue operation. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister, has instructed the administration to make every attempt to rescue the youngster.
The girl’s mother recalled that her daughter fell into the borewell while playing and called out to her for help. This heartbreaking catastrophe occurred right before the child’s grandmother’s eyes, who observed the tragedy and raised an alert, triggering an instant reaction from townspeople and authorities.
