Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir is all set to host the G20 Summit which will be starting from today. This is for the first time that an International event is being held in the state after the Government took the special status of Jammu and Kashmir away in the year 2019. The Government has tightened the security at Srinagar to ensure that the event happens without any issues.
The city has been decorated a lot and the roads which lead to the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre have also been developed by the Government. This place is also the venue of the G20 meet due to which the Government spent a lot to make the place look great.
Chief Coordinator of G20, Harshvardhan Singh reported that till now over 118 cities have held the G20 meet in our country. He also said that India has halfway reached the presidency of the G20 summit.
The last two G20 meets didn’t receive many participants as compared to the G20 meet which is being held this time at Srinagar. The officials also reported that 60 delegates will be participating in the meet and maximum of them belong to the Singapore region.
