Five times champions Mumbai Indians on Tueaday outplayed Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium storming to No.3 from No.8 in the IPL 2023 points table while the defeat pushed RCB a spot lower to the seventh.

The victory was helmed by Suryakumar Yadav, Nehal Wadhera and Ishan Kishan as the Rohit Sharma led side secured their sixth win of the season. Yadav’ beast mode helmed the victory as his whirlwind 35-ball 83 took the Bangalore bowlers to the cleaners on a batting beauty, Surya and Nehal added a fiery 140-run stand off just 66 balls for the third wicket to mow down the visitors. Nehal Wadhera alongside Yadav sored his second successive fifty.

The Mumbai Indians’ captain Sharma was dismissed for only seven, but a brisk start provided by Ishan Kishan (42) and a sturdy stand for the third wicket shut RCB out of the game.

Fifties by Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell help RCB set 200 runs target against MI. Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first against RCB.

A fourth century stand of the season between Faf du Plessis (65 off 41) and Glenn Maxwell (68 off 33) took Royal Challengers Bangalore to 199 for five after Mumbai put them in to bat.

Mumbai Indians maintained their impeccable record of not losing to RCB at the Wankhede since IPL 2015.
