Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present at the Indira Gandhi Pratisthan today, 5 May, for the launch of the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) when Union sports Minister Anurag Thakur launched the mascot, jersey, torch anthem, and logo of the KIUG Games, which will be held on May 25. The launch of the KIUG started at 10 AM today.

Excitement is in the air as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has flagged off the relay torch of the Khelo India University Games (KIUG). Joining him was the Union sports and youth welfare minister, Anurag Singh Thakur, as they kicked off this thrilling event. 

The torch will embark on a journey across the western, eastern, central, and Bundelkhand regions of the state. This is just the beginning of an epic adventure that will take place over the next 20 days. 

As four torches make their way through all the districts of Uttar Pradesh, cultural programs will be held to celebrate this momentous occasion. The state’s sports minister, Girish Chandra Yadav, will also be at this spectacular function. 


The Yogi government has been rejuvenating sports in UP, and KIUG is part of that effort. The event will begin on May 25 with a grand opening ceremony at the BBD University Cricket Ground in Lucknow and conclude on June 3 at BHU, Varanasi.”
