Bengaluru: After the concerns expressed by residents, the BJP today dropped plans to have an eight-hour road show by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje said that PM Modi will now hold the road show two days- 10 AM to 1.30 PM on Saturday and 10AM to 2.30PM on Sunday.

Earlier on Wedesday, Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha member PC Mohan announced that PM Modi will hold a 26.6 kilometre road show on May 6. Meanwhile Vishva Hindu Parisha (VHP) and Bajrang Dal supporters protested in various regions of Karnataka against the cOngress election manifesto, which proposed banning of Bajrang Dal.

At present, BJP seems to have a strong presence in the old Kittur area, thanks to the high profile of former chief minister Jagadish Shettar, Deputy chief minister Laxman Savadi and other leaders. The BJP leaders have announced a movement against Congress’ proposal to abn Bajrang Dal, ahead of Karnataka assembly polls on May 10.

Meanwhile CPI(M) claimed the BJP’s defeat in the May 10 Karnataka assembly polls will be a major setback for the Hindutva forces and democratic opposition to present a serious challenge to the saffron party in 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
