Chhattisgarh: As many as 139 fresh cases of novel coronavirus emerged from Chhattisgarh on Sunday, with this the total tally rose to 2273 in the state.
Among the fresh 139 cases detected,39 are from Korba, 21 from Janjgir-Champa, 17 each recorded from Raipur and Balodabazar, 16 from Jashpur, 14 from Rajnandgaon, 4 from Gariyaband, 3 from Durg, 2 each from Raigarh, Kanker and Behemetara while 1 each reported from Sarguja and balrampur. Besides, 53 patients were discharged following their recovery on Sunday.
On Saturday, An elderly Covid-19 patient died at a hospital in Raipur due to co-morbid conditions, taking the number of coronavirus fatalities in the state to 11.
The numbers of active cases in Chhattisgarh state stands at 841, as 1,421 people have been discharged after being cured. With this, Chhattisgarh’s Recovery rate has surged to 62 percent which is more than that of Nation.
At least 1,26,246 people have been tested for the infection till date.
Except for Bijapur, all 27 other districts have reported atleast 1 case of coronavirus. Korba had the highest number of Covid-19 cases at 298 confirmed infections, followed by Janjgir-Champa(226), Balodabazar(219), Raipur(213), Bilaspur(171), Rajnandgaon(171) and so on.
Meanwhile, In India, there are now more than 4,10,000 cases, of which 2,27,756 patients have made a recovery. Active cases stand at 1,69,451. 13,254 people have succumbed to the infection.
