Mumbai: On April 21, Farhad Samji’s latest film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, starring Pooja Hegde and Venkatesh Daggubati, was released in theatres. Early estimates indicate that the movie’s opening day box office receipts fell short of lofty expectations; according to reports, the film made around Rs 12.5 crore. Additionally, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which set global box office records, was outperformed by KKBKKJ on opening day.

The movie reportedly played on 4500 screens in India and 1200 more screens abroad, with occupancy rates of 10.39% for morning screenings and 13.44% for afternoon shows. After Pathaan, the movie would come in fourth in post-pandemic collections, according to boxofficeindia.com.

Salman Khan’s films frequently perform well at the box office. However, KKBKKJ has gotten mixed reviews. Several critics say the film is a complete entertainer with a convoluted plot. Others claim it’s a movie made for Salman Khan enthusiasts and might not interest a larger audience. The movie received a 2 out of 5-star rating from our internal reviewer, who noted that “like most things Bhaijaan does, KKBKKJ dil mein aata hai, samajh mein nahi.”

KKBKKJ also stars Bhumika Chawla, Abhimanyu Singh, Raghav Juyal, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Shehnaaz Gill, and Palak Tiwari in addition to Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde, and Venkatesh Daggubati. In the movie, the latter two actors make their Bollywood debut.

Overall, the box office results of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan may disappoint some fans, but the film’s success will most likely be determined by its response to Salman Khan’s devoted fan base.
