Raipur: Chhattisgarh police have arrested a police constable for raping woman home guard since last three years on pretext of marriage in Surajpur district of the state.
Surajpur district superintendent of police (SP) Rajesh Kukreja said that the accused police constable has identified as Rajendra Nishad, arrested on charges of raping the home guard. The accused is posted as constable at 10 battalion in Surjapur district.
The woman said in her complaint that the accused constable raped her since last three year on the pretext of marriage.
Jaynagar police lodged the rape case under section 376 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and started investigation.
The accused police constable has been arrested and further investigation into the matter is underway.
