NEW DELHI: Uncertainties prevail over the budget session to continue until April 6th as the stalemate between the government and opposition fails to end. Amid a series of disruptions in the Parliament, both houses of Parliament were adjourned to meet next on Thursday at 11 am.
As per sources the BJP held meetings on Tuesday morning to initiate discussions on the strategy regarding passing the Budget, if the House proceedings remain stalled. On the 7th day in a row, the proceedings of the house were stalled following chaotic scenes. However, prior to being adjourned the house passed the Jammu and Kashmir Appropriation Bill 2023, and the Appropriation Bill (no. 2) 2023.
At the meetings held by Speaker Om Birla for the Lok Sabha and Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar for the Upper House, the BJP maintained that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi could be allowed to put forward his point of view regarding his remarks on Indian democracy in London only if he was ready to apologise over the same. But the Congress rejected this completely, while insisting on its demand that the government constitute a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) to probe the Adani issue.
