Three wickets with the ball, and 77 runs with the bat, Hayley Matthews has been the difference maker for Mumbai Indians. Ironically, she went unsold in the first round of WPL 2023 auction, MI later got her on her base price.

Mumbai Indians made it two in two from Harmanpreet Kaur’s side. Hayley Matthews 77 and Nat Sciver-Brunt (55) help MI beat RCB by 9 wickets and consolidate their place at the top.

Hayley Matthews slammed a brilliant half-century after Yastika Bhatia’s departure as Mumbai Indians look extremely comfortable in the run chase.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, RCB were off to a brisk start with the opening duo of skipper Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine adding 39 runs in 4.2 overs, when the latter was dismissed by Saika Ishaque for an 11-ball 16.

Disha Kasat failed to open her account, before Mandhana was sent back by Hayley Matthews for a 17-ball 23, the RCB captain yet again falling after getting a start. Richa Ghosh, then, contributed 28 runs. Later, RCB were helped by useful cameos from Kanika Ahuja, Shreyanka Patil and Megan Schutt.
