CHHATTISGARH: Under the paddy procurement program that began on November 1st, 2022, Chhattisgarh has so far procured paddy close to 100 LMT, according to sources.
Experts predict paddy procurement in the state will surpass the target set by the Baghel govt for the Kharif Marketing season 2022-23. Until Monday this week, 99.7 LMT paddy was procured.
A total of 2,568 procurement centers have been set up. More than 25lakh farmers have registered to sell their paddy at MSP this year. based on the quality of the farmers are being given Rs 2640 and 2660. Out of the total, 95,000 of them are new registrations.
The government determines to procure about 110 lakh tonnes of paddy for the Kharif marketing year 2022-23. Last year, around 98 lakh MT of paddy was purchased from cultivators in the state.
