INDORE: The Excise Department team took major action on Sunday seized a large quantity of illegal foreign liquor after conducting raids at different locations.
In the raids at Silver Spring Phase 1 near the bypass, dhabas and cafe, huge quantity of illegally stored foreign liquor was seized. Overall 32 bottles of foreign liquor, 50 bottles of beer and a bottle of rum were seized.
At the bungalow in Phase 1 of Silver Spring Colony that belongs to Ramesh Khemani, 42 bottles of expensive foreign liquor were found. Excise inspector Rajeev Mudgal who was present during the raids said that since the accused-owner of the bungalow who was also present during the raids did not produce documents of posession therefore a case under Section 34 (1) A of the MP Excise Act has been lodged against him.
At a dhabha located in Tillaur Khurd, 18 Kingfisher beer cans, two bottles of Blunder Pride whiskey, two bottles of Royal Stag, four bottles of Bocardi White Rum, two bottles of Signature Whiskey were recovered by the Excise team during the search. A case has been registered against the owner of the Dhaba under sections 36A and 36B of the MP Excise Act.
