BIJAPUR: A constable of the CRPF was injured in an IED blast on Tuesday in CGs Bijapur district, police said. The incident took place in the morning when a team of the CRPFs 168th battalion had launched an anti-Maoist operation.

As per reports, the IED was planted by the Maoists in a forest near Galgam village under Usoor police station limits. The injured Jawan identified as Deepak Paswan reportedly stepped over the IED which subsequently exploded leaving him injured.

A search has been initiated in the area, police said.
