Chhattisgarh: On Monday, Bhupesh Baghel- led government has announced some major changes related to various IPS officers, one among them is Neha Champavat.
IPS Neha Champawat has been appointed to the post of Special Secretary in the Home Department. Notably, Neha Champawat will be the first woman home secretary of Chhattisgarh.
She is a 2004 batch IPS officer. Earlier, IPS Neha Champawat was posted as Superintendent of Police, Mahasamund and later on she was appointed as DIG of Surguja Range.
During her tenure in Sarguja, She did some remarkable work for women and schoolgirls in particular. In addition to this, she started self-protection training campaign to make village women self-reliant. She was also held responsible for taking the initiative to provide much needed weekly leave to police personnel in the department.
The order that has been issued by the General Administration Department stated that “The State Government, hereby appoints Smt. Neha Champawat, Deputy Deputy Inspector General of Police, Police Headquarters, Raipur, with immediate effect, temporarily, to the post of Special Secretary, Home Department, Ministry till further orders.”
