RAIPUR: The paddy procurement in the state that began on November 1st has procured around 8,67,487 MT of Paddy from 2,61,346 registered farmers on MSP until 18th November. On Friday,18th November only around 1.10 LMT of paddy was procured from farmers including those who acquired tokens from the Tunhaar Hath application.

Food Secretary Topeshwar Verma said Rs 1777.59 crore was paid to the farmers in lieu of the paddy procured so far. For Saturday as many as 38,113 tokens have been issued including those 5,689 issued through the application.

For the current Kharif marketing season, the procurement target is 110 LMT. The state has registered 25.92 lakh farmers, out of which 1.86 lakh are new farmers. As many as 2,497 procurement centers which adequate staff has been engaged in the procurement program.
