Hyderabad: The film fraternity woke up today with the news of the sad demise of Popular Telugu actor and Mahesh Babu’s Father Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy. He was fondly known as Superstar Krishna, not only in the South film industry but also across the entire cinema world. He was aged 79 at the time of passing away. He died due to cardiac arrest in the emergency ward of a private super specialty hospital in Hyderabad where he was admitted due to health complications.
The news of his death came out in the wee hours of Tuesday. He acted in about 350 films and later in his life he became a successful producer and director as well. He was also honored with one of the highest civilian awards Padma Bhushan in the year 2009 for his outstanding contribution to the Indian film industry. Actors Jr NTR, Rakulpreet Singh, and other celebrities from the South industry and Bollywood industry have deeply mourned the death of their superstar. Jr NTR took to his Twitter and wrote, “My thoughts are with Mahesh Anna and the family. Om Shanthi. Superstar forever.”
Apart from them, Telangana CM Chandrashekhar Rao, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and other high-end politicians have also paid their tribute to the late actor and condolences to the family. He is survived by his superstar son Mahesh Babu and his family. This year has been a very tough year for the family of Mahesh Babu. In September he lost his mother and Mr. Krishna’s first wife Indira Devi. He also lost his elder brother Ramesh Babu earlier in January this year. Mr. Krishna’s second wife, actress Vijaya Nirmala, also died in the year 2019. His body has been taken to his residence and further Information on his cremation ceremony is awaited.
