Perth, Australia: On a recent Instagram post by former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, it can be seen that “some fanatics” invaded his hotel room in Perth, Australia where the Indian team is staying currently for the ongoing T20 WC match. In the video, it is seen that someone visited Virat’s room while he was not there and also made a video of the same which of course was shared with him later. Kohli has expressed his discomfort with the events that occurred and requested fans to maintain the line.

The caption of the video shared by Kohli read, “I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy. If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people’s privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment”.

Reacting to such an invasion of privacy of the Husband, Actor Anushka Sharma also took to her Instagram and called the incident an “absolute disgrace” and reposted the video in her IG story. While uploading the story, she wrote, “Have experienced a few incidents where some fans have shown no compassion or grace in the past but this really is the worst thing. An absolute disgrace and violation of a human being and anyone who sees this and thinks celebrity ho toh deal Karna padega (If you are a celebrity then you will have to deal with this) should know that you are also part of the problem.” She further added, “Exercising some self control helps everyone. Also, if this is happening in your bedroom then where is the line?”

Many celebrities across the movie and sports fraternity have expressed their disgust regarding the incident and have also urged the cricketer to take action against the hotel and its staff. On another Instagram story of the alleged hotel where the incident occurred, it was seen that the owners have taken responsibility for the incident and have also taken the desired actions to keep it an “isolated experience” for their guests furthermore.
