DURG: The accused involved in the murder of a bullion trader in a jewelry shop in  Amleshwar town Chhattisgarh’s Durg district were nabbed by Durg police on Friday, an official said.

According to preliminary investigation, the suspect identified as Gaurav Kumar who claims to be a BJP leader is amongst the other six who have been arrested in connection with the murder. It is learned that Gaurav along with a sharpshooter from Delhi hatched the plan and executed the murder in broad daylight on Thursday. According to the police, it is a supari killing. The CCTV footages extracted from the shop show the killers without any haste shot a bullet straight toward Surendra Kumar Soni. The aggressive killer is seen to continue shooting despite seeing the victim down to zero.

The incident took place on 18th October, at 1 pm when two unidentified men entered the shop posing as customers and looted cash and jewelry after shooting the Soni at the counter of Samriddhi Jewellers. On being rushed to the nearby hospital, Soni was pronounced dead on arrival, Durg Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava said.
