Madhya Pradesh: Busting speculations that quoted Former Madhya Pradesh CM  Kamal Nath is likely to run for the President post in the upcoming elections, the state Congress chief himself on Wednesday stated that he was not keen on becoming party chief as he wants to focus on his home state which will go to Assembly elections next year.

“I talked to Rahul Gandhi and urged him to contest so that all this (ongoing uproar) could be ended. I told him things are getting complicated. But he said he does not want to become (the party president),” Nath told reporters here on Wednesday in reply to a question.

 He further mentioned having met the High Command on clearing his stance for running the post. “I will not take this responsibility because this will take away my focus from Madhya Pradesh. I don’t want to divert my focus from Madhya Pradesh,” the state Congress chief said.

 Nomination forms for the presidential post are being issued, Sashi Tharoor was the first candidature to blow the trumpet. He will file his nomination on September 30th at 11 am. It is also been contented that senior party leader Digvijaya Singh is likely to run for the top post.
