New Delhi: India recorded 5,443 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, push India’s COVID-19 tally to 4,45,53,042. The recovery rate at 98.71 per cent accounted for 5,291 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,39,78,271.
The daily positivity rate stood a 1.61 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 46,342 accounting for 0.10 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise by 126 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 26 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,429.
With the administration of 15,85,343 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 217.11 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The central government has provided more than 203.45 crore (2,03,45,30,125) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Government of India free of cost channel and through direct state procurement category.
As per the Ministry, more than 3.56 crore (3,56,67,110) balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 3,39,062 infected samples. So far, 89.27 crore tests have been conducted.
