Bijapur: Naxals on Sunday evening set ablaze a truck of the CRPF in Bijapur district, officials said on Monday.
As per reports, a CRPF vehicle was carrying rations and vegetables from Bijapur HQs to the COBRA 210 and CRPF Pegdapalli 143 camp while a group of 150-20 Naxals as told by the driver looted the vehicle two km ahead of Sarkeguda CRPF camp pf Tarrem Police station area.
After receiving information about the attack, a joint team of district police from Basaguda and Sarkeguda under the leadership of Additional SP and CRPF was deployed.
It is estimated that the goods being transported were worth 2.5 lakhs. Reports also state that a similar incident of loot while ration sacks were being transported to the CRPF camps in a bus.
