Rajnandgaon: Three have been arrested on charges of rape of a minor girl based on a case filed in Murmunda under Basantpur PS of Rajnandgaon district on September 13, CG police said on Monday. The case was filed under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The accused have been identified as Suraj Yadav (20), Jitendra Rajak (30) and Sunny Kumar NirmalKar (25).
In a media interaction Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Gaurav Rai said ” A 15-year-old girl was raped by 3 men on the night of September 10 in Murmunda. She was picked by one of them while returning from work.”
As per the primary investigation, one of the accused was known to the victim and had reportedly offered her a lift and took her to a deserted area where he and his friends committed the heinous crime. It was also learnt that the accused had threatened the victim for not revealing information about the incident.
