New Delhi: India recorded 5,910 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.69 per cent accounted for 7,034 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,38,80,464.
The daily positivity rate stood at 2.60 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.15 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 53,974 accounting for 0.12 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 1,140 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 16 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,007.
With the administration of 32,31,895 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 213.52 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As per the updated data 94.36 crore beneficiaries have been administered the second dose and 16.82 crore have been jabbed with the precautionary dose.
In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 2,27,313 infected samples. So far, 88.73 crore tests have been conducted.
