Raipur: A week after the state govt employees began their strike, CM Bhupesh Baghel has taken to Twitter, urging the employees to call off the strike and resume work.

In the tweet posted in Hindi, Baghel asserted that the state government always implemented plans keeping in mind the benefits for all employees.

The appeal came a day after the state government ordered disciplinary action against employees and officers.

The state general administration department had on Monday issued a directive to collectors and heads of departments to take action as per the circular of the department issued on April 10, 2006, the government public relations officer said.

The circular states that if employees go on mass leave without prior approval or stage strike, salaries will not be payable for the period of their absence from office and that period will be treated as “break-in-service”, he further said.

The state government employees and officers went on an indefinite strike on August 22 demanding DA and HRA at par with the 7th pay commission.
